The Safe-Decon product/system is an airtight, impermeable waste containment device, our product is designed to contain, control, and eliminate bio-hazardous infected waste. Our product allows research institutions and hospitals to take waste from the source or point of contamination and safely contain and transport to an autoclave for processing. When our container is placed into the autoclave, a load probe can be installed into the middle of the load through a “self-sealing load probe port”, this will allow for the autoclave to detect and control the temperature inside of the container without opening the container and having a potential exposure to the contents, once the autoclave process has been started, the container will open through vents to expose the content to direct steam/heat and increases the penetration effectiveness of a PreVac cycle. Testing has proven to reduce autoclaving waste time as much as 75%. Extensive testing was also accomplished for Murine Carcasses and tissue (download white paper to view results), this testing was in response to the CDC/USDA directive: [9 CFR 121], 11 simulated carcass tests were run with an average overall autoclaving time of 60 minutes using the patented Safe-Decon containers and process, we were able to achieve a 100% successful kill on all Biological Indicators.

The Safe-Decon product was designed for the safety of personnel, it eliminates exposure do to leaks, punctures and potential “sticks” due to sharp items. The containers are made with drop resistant material that is able to withstand temperatures up to 280F/137C and are made with an anti-microbial compound. The effectiveness of the process will reduce the autoclaving time which will increase work efficiency and reduce the cost of utilities. The Safe-Decon containers can also be used as a linen hamper, reducing the processing times for decontaminating scrubs, socks and towels will reduce the damage due to prolonged heat exposure.
The Safe-Decon products will contain liquids and media from spilling inside of the autoclave chamber, this will reduce damage to drain valves and steam traps. The reduced autoclaving times will reduce the “wear and tear” to the autoclave and has the potential of reducing breakdowns.
